ATH — 3D immersive experience
The brief
ATH wanted a 3D immersive web experience that would replace their traditional marketing site — something that felt extraordinary on first visit and ran smoothly on a Macbook Air. Two design studios had tried and given up; everyone said it couldn’t be done within the browser’s frame budget.
We built it on Three.js with custom GLSL shaders, draco-compressed meshes, and a layered streaming model that loaded only what was in viewport. Hero scene boots in 2.1 seconds on a mid-spec laptop. The full experience is 6 chapters that scroll through procedurally generated environments.
Time on site went from 47 seconds to 4 minutes 20 seconds. Branded organic search lifted 2.3x year-over-year because the experience became a press story in its own right.
